One Project Leads to Many

We recently worked with the Lindenwood University team on an expansive recognition program for their new building and it all started with a few named gift plaques. Once the plaques were in place we were lucky enough to be asked to design, build, and install several other pieces of recognition including a new donor wall, Lifetime Board Members display, an Alumni Merit Award display, 30 building donor/dedication plaques, and even two cemetery plaques. Interesting fact – Lindenwood is one of the few universities in the country to have a cemetery on campus and has laid to rest several prominent figures in the university’s history, including the dogs of one of the university’s most beloved past presidents.

What made these projects special was how our designs complimented the unique interior and exterior architecture of the new buildings. The university president wanted something “unique and grand” to fill the space, a “true piece of art” that would honor and recognize the special supporters to the University. Suffice to say, our team rose to the occasion and came up with an amazing concept right out of the gate. During the installation, the university’s president even took the time to meet with Dan Marshall, the 1157 sales representative in charge of the projects, to remark how the display exceeded his expectations!

Doubling Number of Top Donors

What’s better than a party? When Towson University’s College of Business and Economics gathered its distinguished donors to recognize the impact of their gifts, the college had another reason to celebrate. Wouldn’t you celebrate if your team doubled the number of annual top donors from one year to the next?  Kudos to the team – they deserve a party!

It all started two years ago when the college began looking to better engage and recognize its most generous individuals and corporate donors. The college wanted to feature these donors in the historic hallways of its beautiful campus home in Stephens Hall. That’s when 1157 came in; a collaborative conversation between the college’s team and 1157 led to an elegant design to match the stately building, along with careful production.

“1157 provided an original, custom design to fit out budget and presented the concept in a way that showed us the scale of the design and helped us picture how it would look once finished,” said Frank Sneeringer, Director of Major Gifts for the college. “The end result is a beautiful display that is easy and cost effective to update each year. The project has definitely helped us generate more sustained interest from donors. And the customer service 1157 provides is exceptional.”

We appreciate the kudos, but we have to give it right back. After installation, the Wall of Distinction created a wave of momentum, helping the college’s team increase the number of annual top donors by 50% in the year leading up to their grand reveal event!
